Chestnut Chase, Canton NC
Chestnut Chase is a trail race held on November 8, 2026, at Chestnut Mountain Nature Park in Canton, NC. The event is a 10K on singletrack and trail that begins with a rough 600 foot gain in the first two miles up Papertown Express, continues with rolling hills on the Old Timer trail, and finishes with a downhill return that offers fall views.
All proceeds from this fundraising event will support NCMTR and the Chestnut Mountain Foundation. NCMTR is a member-supported non-profit that advocates for and maintains local trails and organizes club events. NCMTR is part of the RUN828 Foundation; membership benefits include retail discounts at participating running stores and entry opportunities for races and events run by participating organizations.
Parking is on-site and supported by the Town of Canton. Participants are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes early to pick up their bib and prepare. Timing will be manual; bibs will not be chipped and are required for visual confirmation of finish. Runners should wear their number visibly for the entire race.
There will be one aid station at the lollipop course intersection, passed at about mile 1.5 and again near mile 4.6, offering water, light snacks, and backcountry medical support.
