Chernisky Ghost Town Trail-a-thon
Chernisky Ghost Town Trail-a-thon is a multi-distance trail event in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, held on October 3, 2026. The event is part of the 2026 Cambria County Trails Series and is organized by the Cambria County Trails Series. All race day events finish at Duman Lake County Park in Ebensburg.
Distances and options offered:
- Marathon (26.2 miles) point-to-point Ebensburg to Duman Lake County Park
- 15 miler point-to-point Nanty Glo start to Duman Lake County Park
- 5k out-and-back at Duman Lake County Park on crushed gravel and some pavement
- Couch Potato 0.0k novelty gathering at the start line and immediate finish
- Casual bike ride (26.2 miles) round trip from Duman Lake County Park to Twin Rocks
The marathon and 15-miler use recent extensions of the Ghost Town Trail and the C & I Trail and include a mix of rail-trail surface, single-track near the park, and some minor hill climbs. Transportation will be provided from the finish at Duman Lake County Park back to starting areas for marathon and 15-miler participants. Aid resources include four full aid stations and three water-only stations, plus ADA compliant restrooms at multiple locations. There is a 15 minute per mile pace limit for the marathon; slower participants may be offered transport to the finish area. Pre-registered participants receive a commemorative long sleeve shirt and all finishers receive a finisher medal.
