Chernisky Ghost Town Trail-a-thon : Ebensburg, PA : October 3, 2026
The Chernisky Ghost Town Trail-a-thon is a multi event trail day organized by the Cambria County Trails Series at Duman Lake County Park and along the Ghost Town Trail and C & I Extension in Cambria County, Pennsylvania. Events include several foot race distances, a casual group bicycle ride, and a noncompetitive Couch Potato 0.0k.
Distances offered
- Marathon 26.2 miles point to point from Ebensburg to Duman Lake County Park
- 15 miler point to point from Nanty Glo to Duman Lake County Park
- 5k out and back beginning and ending at Duman Lake County Park
- Couch Potato 0.0k gathering at the start line only
A casual group bicycle ride covers 26.2 miles round trip between Duman Lake County Park and Twin Rocks trailhead on the Ghost Town Trail and C & I Extension. Near the park the route includes single track with roots and rocks so riders may prefer tires other than road type.
Aid and facilities include four full aid stations with water and nutrition, three water only stations, and ADA compliant restrooms at multiple points along the trail. A commemorative long sleeve shirt is provided to pre registered participants and all finishers receive a finisher medal. Top three male and female finishers will be recognized in the marathon, 15 miler and 5k. An Athletes with Disabilities division is offered for the 5k with specific guide and equipment guidelines. Proceeds support Cambria County trails and the local firefighters training facility.
