About the race
Cheraw 24 Hour is a timed trail running event on February 20, 2027 at Cheraw State Park in Cheraw, SC, organized by Mountaineer Rumble Events. Registration opens August 17, 2026. The event uses a single loop course and has a 24 hour time limit.
The course follows the Turkey Oak Trail Outer Loop, a smooth trail measuring 4.3 mile with about 190 feet of elevation gain per loop. The route is described as flat and fast and passes through pine, turkey oak, blackjack oak, and hickory trees. Wildlife that can be seen along the trail includes red cockaded woodpeckers, deer, and a variety of other birds.
Runners may complete as many loops as they choose during the event. An aid station and a drop bag area are located at the completion of each loop, providing access to race aid and personal gear without leaving the course. Typical ultra race snack foods are available at the start and finish area, and food served throughout the event includes burgers, pizza, hot dogs, pasta, bacon, and pancakes.
Awards are presented to the Top Three Male and Top Three Female finishers. Any runner who completes 100 miles receives a custom design 100 mile buckle. Cabins and campsites are available through Cheraw State Park. The event aims to highlight the park trail system and support further trail improvements.
