Chamna Chase Event Overview
The Chamna Chase is a trail running event held in the Chamna Natural Preserve in Richland, Washington. Organized by the Nomad Trail Runners, this event offers three distinct distances for participants:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 6K
The courses are designed to utilize dirt trails wherever possible, though some sections of pavement and occasional rocky terrain are included in the half marathon and 10K routes. The half marathon layout consists of a double out-and-back section with a central loop. The 10K follows the first out-and-back portion and the loop from the longer course, while the 6K distance is composed of a single large loop. Fluorescent tape is used to mark the paths for all runners.
Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes during the race, with potential prizes available for specific outfits. The event is open to families, and dogs are permitted to join provided they remain on a leash. Registration includes post-race snacks and eligibility for awards and sponsor-provided prizes.
