North Downs Way 50
The North Downs Way 50 is a 50 mile point-to-point race along the North Downs Way National Trail from the trailhead at Farnham to the finish in the fields behind Knockholt Pound Village Hall. The event covers 50 miles (81 km) with total climb of 5,600 ft (1,700 m) and is recorded as the 16th annual running of the race.
The course follows the North Downs Way closely until the final half mile and features a mix of terrain: about 80% trail and 20% road, including steep sections such as the climb to Box Hill and rutted stair descents. The field is limited to around 300 starters and the overall cut-off time for the race is 13 hours.
There are six fully stocked aid stations offering a range of food and drink with options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diets. Medical support includes a team of race medics, static aid at the finish and race ambulances; remote sections may take longer for medical teams to reach.
Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and includes a fully charged mobile phone, minimum 1 litre water capacity, survival blanket, waterproof jacket, whistle, headtorch, cup and the supplied GPS tracker. Pacers and crew are not permitted and spectators must not attend aid stations. Race HQ is at Farnham Leisure Centre and finish parking is available at Coolings Lifestyle Garden Centre, a short walk from the finish. Entries open 21 June 2026 and places are allocated first come, first served; the entry fee is £118 (£120 unaffiliated). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
