Chiltern Wonderland 50

The Chiltern Wonderland 50 is a single loop 50 mile race (81 km) through the Chiltern Hills held on 19 Sep 2026. The route starts and finishes at Goring Village Hall in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, and covers about 5600 ft (1700 m) of ascent and the same descent. The course combines mainly trail and some road sections, approximately 80% trail and 20% road, and is fully marked with Centurion ribbons and marker arrows so navigation is not required.

There are five well stocked aid stations offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, sports nutrition and hot food at the finish. The event is held under a UK Athletics Permit through the TRA and includes full medical cover with a static finish team and roving medics on course. The official overall cut off is 13 hours.

Entries open on 11 October 2025 on a first come, first served basis. Entrants must meet the qualification standard of having completed at least a marathon within the cut off time of that event since 1 January 2021; unqualified runners may be contacted to verify plans. Entry fees are £115 or £117 for unattached runners. Pacers and crews are not permitted and supporters are allowed only at designated locations.

Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and includes a charged mobile phone with emergency numbers, 1 litre water capacity, survival blanket, waterproof jacket with sealed seams, whistle, primary and backup lights (minimum 100 lumens each), a dry long sleeved top for emergency use, and a cup or mug. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
