Cat Lane Canter

The Cat Lane Canter is a trail running event based at Newfield Secondary School. The route takes participants along undulating footpaths through the woodlands located between Newfield School and Cat Lane. The woodland areas are known for being covered in bluebells during the event period.

The course features uneven terrain and includes several hills. Because of the nature of the woodland paths, the ground can become muddy in wet weather conditions. The event provides an opportunity to experience trail and fell running environments without traveling to the Peak District.

Participants can choose from the following distance options:

  • 10 km trail run
  • 5 km trail run
  • Fun run for all ages

The 5 km and 10 km distances are approximate and may measure slightly shorter on GPS devices due to the specific characteristics of the terrain and elevation changes. While the main races require prior arrangement, the fun run accepts entries on the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
