Castle to Castle ULTRA 36
Castle to Castle ULTRA 36 is a 36 mile point to point ultra running event from Clitheroe to Lancaster. The route runs from Clitheroe Park to Lancaster Castle and is largely on trail while passing through some urban areas and road crossings.
The event has a maximum completion time of 10 hours. The course is fully marked and supported with chip timing, participant tracking, six checkpoints and stocked aid stations. Each checkpoint supplies water and cordial, and four checkpoints provide a selection of supplementary snacks. Full checkpoint details and a GPX file are provided to registered participants before the event.
Entry is by pre-registration only. The entry fee is £65, minimum age is 18 years, and entries close on 11 July 2027 unless the event limit is reached. Transfers or deferrals to another runner cost £10 and must be completed no later than one calendar month before the event. No entries are available on the day.
Race administration includes a mandatory kit check and on the day collection of the race pack, which contains the bib and tracker. Mandatory kit includes a waterproof coat or jacket with sealed seams, a long sleeved base layer, a water bottle or bladder with at least 1 litre capacity, a fully charged mobile phone, a foil blanket and a whistle.
