Castle Rock Trail Festival / liveBIG Run
The Castle Rock Trail Festival / liveBIG Run is a multi distance trail event in Castle Rock, Colorado, held at Philip S. Miller Park and Ridgeline Open Space on Saturday, Oct. 3. The event includes races for solo participants and a family obstacle course for children ages 5 to 12.
Race distances include:
- liveBIG Family Adventure Run family obstacle course
- Philip S. Miller 5K
- Ridgeline 10K
- Ridgeline Trail Half Marathon
- Ridgeline 50K
All participants receive an event T shirt and a finisher medal. Professional chip timing is used with a disposable bib chip. Free event photos are available after the race and refreshments are provided at the finish area. Aid stations offer bottled water and basic first aid, with electrolytes available at the Philip S. Miller Park station and at aid stations No. 4 and No. 12 on the Ridgeline side.
The 50K includes a required loop cutoff and provisions for drop bags at a 10 foot by 10 foot tent located near the start of the second loop. Awards for overall and age group placings are presented in all races 5K and up, with age group categories for the 10K and half marathon and separate categories for the 50K ultramarathon.
Course notes: the routes use the town ridgeline trail system, reach a high point near 6,700 feet, and may involve natural trail conditions and local wildlife. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
