Carderock Half and accompanying races
This event offers three measured races held at Carderock Recreation Area along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal towpath in Potomac, MD. All three routes run on a light gravel dirt trail as out and back courses with minimal elevation gain.

The event is chip timed and provides a finisher’s medal and a technical drifit event shirt. Water and sports drink support is provided along the courses: one water station on the 5k, four on the 10k, and ten on the half marathon, with Gatorade available at some stations. Restrooms are located by the main parking lot. There is parking within the recreation area across four parking lots; organizers provide GPS coordinates for the event location.
Points from the races count toward year‑long series including 5k, 10k, Endurance and Back of the Pack series, and toward a Spring Series. Walkers are welcome and a virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
Awards include top three overall men and women plus age group awards for standard decades from 19 and under through 70 plus; overall top three finishers are not eligible for age group awards. The event operates in most weather conditions though officials may delay, change, or postpone the event if necessary. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
