Calderdale Way Relay : 16 May 2027

The Calderdale Way Relay is the 42nd running of a six-leg off-road team relay scheduled for Sunday 16 May 2027. The route starts at Clay House in West Vale and finishes at the Halifax Harriers headquarters at Spring Hall. The event is licensed by the FRA and will be conducted under FRA rules; participants are encouraged to hold FRA membership.

Entries are online only and open in December 2026. Entry is limited to 100 teams on a first come first served basis, with a closing date in May 2027 or earlier if the limit is reached. Team member names do not need to be provided at the time of entry. The published entry fee is payable online; refunds will not be given if the event is cancelled for reasons beyond the organisers control or if a team cannot take part.

Team and category rules include a minimum runner age of 18 years on race day, except for Leg 3 where the minimum age is 16. Veteran categories begin at over 40 years for both men and women. Mixed teams require a minimum of six ladies to qualify for mixed team prizes. The race awards multiple category prizes, Pete White Trophies to the first men's and ladies teams to reach Stoodley Pike and finish, and a total of £1,800 in bonus prizes for record-breaking teams and leg pairs.

Kit requirements state full kit is mandatory on Legs 1, 2 and 4; kit for Legs 3, 5 and 6 is weather dependent. A recent advisory recommends carrying waterproof body cover for Legs 3, 5 and 6. Volunteer marshalls are sought to assist on the day for approximately two to three hours and receive a collectors edition Calderdale Way Relay coaster and a Hi Viz top. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
