Brutal @ Longmoor
Brutal @ Longmoor is an end-of-year trail event held at Longmoor that uses a looped course through sand dunes and an arena. The route includes multiple hill climbs, marshes and muddy sections, and several water features. Participants who have met the 2026 criteria can claim a gold medal, and all finishers receive a medal.
The course passes notable features including the dune sections, the "Tank Wallow" crater-like water feature, and a linear pond called the "Swimming Pool" near the start and finish. The route twists and turns before returning to the arena, which provides close viewing areas for spectators.
Distances offered:
- 5 Miles (8 km) single lap
- 10 Miles (16 km) two laps
Minimum ages and course rules are specified: the 5 mile option has a minimum age of 10 years when accompanied by an entered adult or 13 years unaccompanied; the 10 mile option has a minimum age of 15 years. There is a 90 minute cut off to complete the first lap for runners doing the two-lap 10 mile option.
Entries may be withdrawn up to 14:00 on the Thursday before the event; withdrawn entries are credited for future Brutal events rather than refunded. Final logistical details are communicated to entrants before race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
