About the race
The Bridge Burner Ultra is a late‑season trail event in Cañon City, Colorado, organized as a single loop course that showcases the Royal Gorge area. The route follows the Arkansas River, passes through historic granite‑blasted Tunnel Drive tunnels, and climbs to a high point at 7,109 feet with views of the Royal Gorge and Pikes Peak. Runners travel rolling singletrack in Royal Gorge Mountain Park, cross the highest bridge in the United States, and descend through Temple Canyon.
Distances offered:
- 50k : 4,200 ft elevation gain
- 35 mile : 4,400 ft elevation gain
- 35k : 2,800 ft elevation gain
- 10k : 575 ft elevation gain
Aid stations are described as well stocked with Tailwind, Muir Energy Gels, banana bread, sweet and salty snacks, fruit, soda, and warm food options at cooking aid stations such as bacon, quesadillas, potatoes, and pierogis. Crewing is allowed only at crew‑accessible aid stations; pacing is prohibited. All aid stations are accessible by 2WD vehicles. Packet pickup and event operations take place in Centennial Park near the start/finish area. Registrations include a gender specific race shirt, a BOCO trucker hat (excludes 10K), a personalized bib and finishers’ award, and a post‑race meal.
