Brenig Way 50k Trail
Brenig Way 50k Trail on 18 October 2026 is based at Green Lane Car Park, Corwen. The race follows a regional marked footpath of 32 miles through upland scenery, beginning in the Dee Valley and moving across to Conwy county before climbing into Clocaenog Forest and reaching the shores of Llyn Brenig, with the finish located on the dam.
The event distance is 50 km with an ascent of 1450 m. The route passes a mixture of surfaces and features, including country lanes, technical climbs and descents, grassy riverside paths, and forest tracks.
Participants navigate using the existing Brenig Way waymarkers; organizers provide a GPX file and an event map. The race is electronically timed and each runner is issued a GPS tracker. There are three checkpoints with refreshments at Glan yr Afon (11 km), Clocaenog Forest (24 km), and Cyfylliog Village (37 km).
All runners are required to carry mandatory kit: a waterproof jacket and trousers, a spare base layer top, hat and gloves, a whistle, the provided map, a fully charged mobile phone, and a starting water supply of 500 ml. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
