Brecon to Cardiff Xtreme & Taff Xtreme Marathon
The event takes place on Sunday 14 February 2027 at Coleg y Cymoedd, Heol Cronchendy, Parc Nantgarw, Nantgarw, Wales CF15 7QX. It is organised by Run Walk Crawl and comprises two mountain running events on the same course corridor from Brecon toward Cardiff.
Distances offered:
- Brecon to Cardiff Xtreme Ultra: 75 km, 2800 m ascent
- Taff Xtreme Marathon: 26.2 miles, 1200 m ascent
The route crosses mountain ridgelines and valley terrain and includes 11 major peaks, among them Pen y Fan, Cribyn and Fan y Big. The mountain sections are unmarked and require GPS navigation. The ultra has six checkpoints and the marathon has three checkpoints. The ultra includes an indoor halfway checkpoint at Merthyr with drop bag access. The event finishes at Coleg y Cymoedd with GPS tracking in place.
Standard entry fees listed on the event page are £90.00 plus a booking fee for the ultra and £50.00 plus a booking fee for the marathon.
