Trail Running in Golden
The Break of Dawn North Table Trail Race takes place in Golden, Colorado, on the trail systems of North Table Mountain. This event serves as a benefit for BeyondHome, an organization dedicated to helping families transition out of homelessness and toward self-sufficiency. The race enters its second year in 2026 and utilizes the local mesa terrain to provide panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Participants can choose between two distinct distances:
- 10 Mile
- 5 Mile
The 10 Mile course utilizes the North Table Loop, covering the 7.7-mile outer rim of the mountain along with 2.6 additional miles to complete the distance. This route provides an extensive tour of the mesa and its natural features. The 5 Mile distance, referred to as the Breaking Dawn Fiver, follows a path through the Lithic Trail and the Fairmount Canal Loop. This shorter route includes various climbs and switchbacks typical of the local landscape.
The terrain at North Table Mountain is characterized by a network of over 15 miles of trails. Runners can expect moderate-to-advanced sections featuring rocky and uneven surfaces. The event begins at Table Mountain Meetings and Events, located at 16035 Table Mountain Parkway. Packet pickup is scheduled for the two days preceding the event at a designated location in Wheat Ridge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
