Boulder Beast
Boulder Beast is a trail running event in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, organized by PA Trail Dogs. The course includes a prominent boulder field and runs over named trails such as Goat Path, Lightning Ridge, Gut Check, Black Diamond, Crossover, Fleming Way, Chestnut Flats and the Gorge Trail. The start and finish are located at the Castanea Township Fire Company picnic grounds, with available camping space and free parking that requires no reservations.

Registration opens December 16 and is limited to the first 600 entrants or the September 1 deadline. Entry fees are listed as $80 for the 25K and $90 for the miler. The event policy specifies no refunds, no bib transfers, no deferments, and no unauthorized participants.
The event enforces strict cut-off times at multiple aid stations; runners who miss cut-offs may be removed from the course or directed onto the shorter course. A pre-race gathering and packet pickup occur the day before the race. After the finish, a post-race picnic is provided by the organizer.
