About the race
The BougeBouge Wakefield Covered Bridge Run takes place in Wakefield at Centre Vorlage on 11 October 2026. The event combines road and trail courses that cross the Wakefield covered bridge and run along sections of the Gatineau River and Gatineau Park.
Distances offered
- 3 km run or walk crossing the covered bridge
- 5 km run or walk along the river with a turnaround
- 10 km road loop with river sections, one third paved and two thirds gravel
- 10 km trail with mixed terrain including hills, forest and plains
- 21.1 km trail limited to 250 participants, age 10 and older, out to Philippe Lake and back, no dogs allowed on the trail
Event services and logistics include timed results by SPORTSTATS.CA and a clock at the finish, five water stations on course with some self serve, indoor washrooms at the Vorlage centre, and an unsupervised locker inside the main building. Overnight paid parking and camping options are available on site without hookups or services. Registration details specify that a personalized bib requires registration at least ten days before the event and that personalized medals are available only during online registration; all finishers receive a standard BougeBouge medal. Cut offs and split times are published for participant safety. Post race site activities include campfires, picnics and live music, and a separate Thanksgiving style buffet is offered with ticketed access.
