Bootstrap Boogie : Irving Nature Park
The Bootstrap Boogie is an annual trail race held at the Irving Nature Park on the Fundy coast in Southern New Brunswick. The event for 2026 is scheduled for October 31 and offers two marked distances.
- 9 km
- 17 km
Both courses start at the Sheldon Point Trail parking lot and finish in the same field area. The routes run along the Sheldon Point Trail, through a pit area, across the beach and on a dirt road to an aid station operated from the Irving Nature Park parking lot. The 17 km route additionally includes the Coastal Loop around the park, run clockwise, and uses the boardwalk and the Frog Trail. The final segment for both distances includes an 800 metre run across a field to the finish.
Aid station access differs by distance: the 9 km course has a single aid stop at about 4.5 km; the 17 km course accesses the same aid station twice, at roughly 4.5 km and 12.5 km. Course changes are noted: the 9 km distance was introduced in 2024 and the overall course was updated in 2023.
Registration fees are collected by Saint John Trail Running. The Irving Nature Park does not charge for park use. Cash prizes are offered for the top three male and top three female finishers. Recorded course times include a 9 km best of 39:51 and a 17 km best of 1:13:20. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
