Rompin' Rockwood
Rompin' Rockwood is a trail running event held in Rockwood Park in Saint John, in one of the largest municipal parks in North America. The event offers three distances that follow primarily technical singletrack with some crushed gravel and very little pavement. The terrain rarely is flat and features technical sections rather than large sustained climbs.
Distances:
- 52 km
- 26 km
- 11 km
The event is part of the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) National League and awards ITRA points for the 26 km and 52 km distances. Race headquarters are at the old canteen by Fisher Lake, about 300 m from the Fisher Lake parking lot. The headquarters area includes a lake, a beach, lawn space and a kids park. Porta-potties are provided for participants.
The event has recorded course times across its distances and lists a prize purse for 2026 of $5000. The published date for a future edition is May 22, 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
