Bobcat Trail Races

Bobcat Trail Races take place in Palmer Park in Colorado Springs and include multiple trail distances held on a single event day in October 2026. The event was formerly organized as a Mad Moose event and was handed to Aravaipa Running beginning in 2024.

The courses use city park single track, rocky bluffs, rolling hills and sections of forest, with views of Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak. Courses are clearly marked using orange ribbon with black polka dots and laminated junction signs; non race trails are marked with blue and white checkerboard ribbon. Runners are advised to download an offline GPX or course map and to carry a reusable cup for aid stations.

Distances offered

  • 50K (about 31.0 miles)
  • 25K (about 15.36 miles)
  • 10K (about 6.5 miles)
  • 5K (about 3.68 miles)

The 50K, 25K and 10K include multiple staffed aid stations at set mile markers; the 5K has no aid stations. Drop bags can be stored at the finish area. Crews and spectators are welcome at the start and finish area but parking may be limited. Pacers are not permitted for any distance. Time limits and elevation statistics vary by distance and are published with each course description. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
