Blue Ridge Running Retreat
The Blue Ridge Running Retreat is a three-day trail running retreat hosted by 12th State Endurance in Roaring Gap, NC. The program combines guided trail runs, lodge accommodations, shared meals, and transportation between the lodge and trailheads. Arrival is on Thursday afternoon at the lodge.
Course and daily running adventures include guided runs that showcase different local trails and viewpoints.
- Day 1 - ~10 miles remote Parkway-adjacent trails with forest running and stream crossings
- Day 2 - ~8 miles scenic and historic trails with viewpoints and a local swimming hole
- Day 3 - ~7 miles signature mountain route with optional additional connecting miles
Accommodations and support are provided at a lodge with an outdoor deck, game room, and common living area. Room options include king suites with private bathrooms, queen lofts with private sleeping areas, and a bunkroom with shared beds. Pre-run breakfasts include bagels, muffins, pastries, and snacks. Lunch is prepared on site by a chef, and the first night’s dinner is included. Short coaching presentations are scheduled during lunch periods. Trailhead transportation and an event running shirt are included. Evening dinners after the first night are not included. Pets are not permitted.
Pricing listed by room type is: king suite $1000 with second person +$300, queen loft $800 with second person +$300, shared beds/bunks $600. The retreat recommends comfort running up to about 10 miles on mountain trails. Guests can also pursue local activities such as hiking, trout fishing, golf, winery visits, and local dining.
