CBTE Blencathra Marathon
The event is a circular fell and trail marathon starting and finishing in Caldbeck. The route covers about 26.4 miles with an elevation gain of just under 6000 ft and is fully tracked. It is described as suitable for experienced fell and trail runners and for fell walkers.
The course visits five Wainwright summits: Bowscale, Blencathra, Mungrisdale Common, Knott and High Pike before returning to Caldbeck. Entry requires participants to be 18 or older.
Entry fees are listed as Affiliated £58.00 and Non Affiliated £60.00. The entry package includes a finishers medal, two water and snack checkpoints on the route, and snacks and hot drinks at the finish. Trophies are awarded for first, second and third places in male, female and non binary categories. Parking is available in the village.
