About the race
The Blankets Creek Trail Run is scheduled for March 27, 2027, at Blankets Creek Mountain Bike Trails in Canton, Georgia. The event is organized by Mountain Goat Adventures LLC in partnership with SORBA Woodstock. A portion of the proceeds will benefit SORBA Woodstock for trail maintenance.
Registration opens January 1, 2027. Registration fees vary by distance and by date of registration; an additional online processing fee applies. Registration includes a tri-blend event shirt and a commemorative swag item, with a March 14 deadline to be guaranteed a requested shirt size. The event offers two marked trail courses that use established singletrack and connector trails around Lake Allatoona.
The 5 mile course starts on Hamiltons Hop, joins the second South Loop Connector Trail, and runs South Loop counter clockwise. South Loop includes rolling terrain and some rocky sections with views of Lake Allatoona. Runners descend the Chairlift Trail and return on Hamiltons Hop and the Mosquito Flats Creekside Trail for a mostly flat final half mile. The 10 mile course starts on Hamiltons Hop, turns onto Mosquito Flats, and climbs onto Van Michael Trail running counter clockwise.
Van Michael features rolling, hilly terrain and a 420 climb including Kevorkian Pass. After returning via Mosquito Flats and Hamiltons Hop, runners follow the South Loop Connector onto South Loop and descend the Chairlift Trail to the finish. An aid station is available at mile 4.6 on the long course.
Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers overall and to the top three in each age group for both distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
