Bill Bruno Alumni Cross Country Run
The Bill Bruno Alumni Cross Country Run is the eighth annual alumni race held at Holmdel Park in Holmdel, New Jersey, and hosted by the Shore A.C. The event honors the late Bill Bruno and uses the traditional Holmdel Park cross country course, with the 1 and 2 mile points marked.
The main race is a 5K for men and women with both individual and team competition. Team scoring is based on each team’s top three finishers; fourth and fifth runners may displace other teams. Three team categories are contested: high school/college and their alumni; club and open teams (club, family, friends, business, or similar); and co-ed teams, which must include at least one finisher of each gender. Custom awards are given for top overall finishers, masters (40+), top teams in each category, and the largest overall team. Chip timing and live results are provided by Viper Timing.
The field size is limited; the cap for 2026 is set at 250 entrants and there were over 200 entries the prior year. Entry fees vary by registration period with published rates of $20, $22, $26, and an event-day rate of $30 if space is available. The first 150 entrants receive a commemorative Bill Bruno Alumni Run mug. Parking is available on site.
Proceeds benefit the Shore Athletic Club, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations may be directed to Teen Cancer America, whose mission is increasing survival and improving the lives of adolescent and young adults with cancer by transforming hospitals to better serve their needs.
