Turkey Shuffle - Houston
The Turkey Shuffle is a Thanksgiving-themed running event at Oyster Creek Park in Sugar Land, Texas, held by Bigfoot Running Company on November 14, 2026. The event offers multiple distances and race formats, including an in-person Kids Dash, a 1 mile run, chip-timed 5K and 10K races, a volunteer-then-run 5K option, and a virtual run.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash - approximately 50 meters, for children 10 and under
- 1 Mile - untimed, includes a shirt and finisher medal
- 5K - 3.11 miles, chip timed with overall trophies and age group awards
- 10K - 6.22 miles, chip timed with overall Bigfoot trophies and age group awards
- Volunteer then Run 5K - limited spots, includes a chip timed bib, shirt, and medal
- Virtual Run - 6.22 miles
Race amenities include aid stations with water, post-race snacks and refreshments at the race rally tent, a DJ playing music and announcing runners, finish line recognition, and professional race photography at the Kids Dash. All finishers receive a medal and shirt. The 5K and 10K have standard age group awards across multiple age bands and masters recognition.
A costume contest will award a Biggest Turkey trophy and a prize pack containing a certificate for two free future races, an HEB gift card, and a Bigfoot Running Company swag pack. Events proceed rain or shine and follow a no-refund policy with options to transfer registration to a virtual race, another event, or to another person.
