Beware the Bear Trail Races take place on October 25, 2026 at Bear Creek Lake Park in Lakewood, CO. The event is organized by Run Uphill Racing and offers multiple trail distances with paid registration options.

The 5K begins with an opening loop of about 1 kilometer before continuing onto the eastern portion of a larger loop. The Kids 1K uses the same initial loop as the 5K; adults and older siblings may accompany children without a separate registration requirement. All kids receive a stuffed animal at the finish. A timing clock will be present for the kids race, but it will not be officially timed like the other races. A participant fee is charged for the kids race to cover park costs.
The double format has runners complete the 5K, take a short break, and then run the 15K.
Volunteer roles include registration, parking, aid station, and finish line; volunteers may run for free at this or a future race. Parking and park entry details note access from Morrison Road, about 1/4 mile east of C470. Entrants are to inform the toll booth attendant that they are with the race so no park entry fee is required. Follow the road left at the Y after the toll booth to reach parking areas.
