Bernhardt Wine Run 5k
The event is a chip-timed 5k run/walk held at Bernhardt Winery, 9043 County Rd 204, Plantersville, TX 77363. The course is a two-lap, cross country style route through the vineyards with some areas of uneven footing, and it is open to runners and walkers.
Registration includes a T-shirt (super soft ring spun cotton), a shatterproof collapsible portable wine glass, a finisher medal, a race bib with chip timing, online results, and a pour of wine. Minors receive a discounted registration that includes a shirt, medal, and bib; minors do not receive a wine glass or a pour of wine.
Age group awards are given to the top three finishers in each category. Categories are divided in 10 year bands: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and over. Competitive runners should start with the first group to be eligible for age group awards. Age group awards are available only on the day of the event and are not shipped.
Packet pickup is race day only and opens one hour before the event. The event lists Grimes County Animal Rescue as its local charity partner; this organization operates a no-kill shelter for stray dogs and cats in Grimes County. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
