Bergplaas Challenge 2026
The Bergplaas Challenge is an MTB and trail running event held at Libertas Guest Farm in Hoekwil, Wilderness, Western Cape on 28 November 2026. This is the fifth edition of the event. The event includes multiple mountain bike and trail run distances, and accommodation is available at the race village on the farm.
Distances offered:
- MTB: 15 km, 30 km, 40 km, 70 km
- Trail Run: 7 km, 10 km
The event is sanctioned by Cycling South Africa and MTB riders must hold a current CSA membership or license. Riders without membership may purchase a temporary day license. Entry fees are listed per distance and range from R150 for the 7 km trail run up to R450 for the 70 km MTB event.
A bike service station and bike wash will be available, operated by Cycle Worx Sedgefield; proceeds from the bike wash go to a local charity and a R30 fee is suggested per bike wash. Route profiles and elevation are provided for each class, and some MTB distances have minimum age requirements. The venue is Libertas Guest Farm and the event village is located on the farm property.
