Becoming Ultra
Becoming Ultra is an in-person timed endurance event held in a local forest near The Blue Mountains, ON at 729153 Side Road 21. The course is a flat 4 km loop that repeats for the chosen duration. The event offers two participation options: a twelve hour option and a six hour option. Everyone finishes together at the end of the day.
Participants move on foot at their own pace. There is no competition and no minimum speed; people may run, walk, hike, pause, eat, or rest as they wish. The event is supported on course with food and supplies and is limited to 18 participants to allow close support and group cohesion.
The twelve hour option begins in darkness and uses headlamps until daylight arrives; the day warms as light increases. Weather and overnight conditions may include near freezing temperatures and possible frost, so layered clothing that can be carried is recommended.
The event is public and doubles as a fundraiser; details about the cause will be provided later. Practical information about parking, required kit, what is provided on course, and the route is sent to registered participants ahead of the day. Paid parking is in effect and refunds are permitted up to seven days before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
