Beautiful Bingley

Beautiful Bingley is a series of trail races along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal just outside Bingley. The route is an out-and-back on a mostly flat, even towpath with good underfoot trail; notable changes in level occur at the canal locks. The event offers chip timing and is licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules.

Distances available:

  • 5K
  • 10K
  • 10 mile
  • Half marathon
  • 20 mile (2 x 10 mile laps)
  • Marathon (2 x half marathon laps)

The course is marshalled and signed, with feed and drink stations roughly every 3 miles. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and additional treats. Organisers encourage reusable cups or bottles because feed stations aim to be cup-less.

Practical details include separate locations for parking/registration and for the start/finish. Parking, registration and toilets are at Bradford and Bingley Rugby Club on Wagon Lane, while the race start and finish are at the Fishermans Pub Garden, about a 10 minute walk after registration. Bingley train station is about 1.5 miles from registration. The organisers provide downloadable GPX route files. Large over ear headphones are banned; bone conduction or one in, one out earphones are allowed. Transfers or deferrals can be completed online up to 72 hours before the event. If a runner withdraws during the event they should notify the nearest marshal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
