Beat the Ferry - Studland, Dorset

Beat the Ferry is a coastal trail running event on the Purbeck peninsula with two race distances. The course follows the South West Coast Path and Purbeck hills, runs past white chalk cliffs and castle ruins, and returns to the race base.

The route starts on Studland Beach near Knoll Beach Café, passes Old Harry Rocks, and reaches Corfe Castle. The 25 km returns at Corfe Castle; the 50 km continues to Grange Hill before returning. The format is an out and back course with sea views and sections across National Trust dunes.

Race headquarters and bib and chip collection are at Knoll House Hotel in Studland. The finish is at the same hotel, where cold water, tea, coffee and cake are provided. The event typically fields a small field of entrants and includes larger aid stations along the route.
