GeelKlip Summer Challenge : Obstacle Course and Trail Run at Middelwater Farm
GeelKlip Summer Challenge is an outdoor event featuring an obstacle course race, a trail run, and a kids obstacle race on Middelwater Farm near Bloemfontein in the Free State. The main obstacle event is a cross-country style "obstacle fun run" of approximately 5–6 km with around 20 obstacles drawn from standard World Championship-style courses. The event allows participants to complete the obstacles they choose and is open entry with no national federation affiliation required. Pre-entry is essential for all competitive categories.
The program includes a separate kids obstacle race for ages six and up; children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult. Distances offered:
- 5 km trail or obstacle course option
- 2 km kids obstacle course
Finishers receive a medal, free beer, and professional photos. Recommended items to bring are a towel, dry clothes, and cash for on-site purchases; outside food and drink are not permitted. Pets are allowed but should have identification. Participants are advised to wear performance, water-wicking clothing and shoes they have trained in, as footwear will get dirty. The event is organized by Aktief Events Pty Ltd and takes place at GeelKlip - Middelwater Plaas, situated on the R30 Brandfort Road about 30 km outside Bloemfontein.
