Two Tunnels 15 August 2027
The Two Tunnels event is set in Brickfields Park, The Hollow, Twerton, Bath, United Kingdom and is organised by Relish The Great Outdoors. The event takes place on 15 August 2027 and uses a route that passes beneath the city of Bath through two former railway tunnels.
The tunnels were part of the Somerset and Dorset Railway, which closed in 1966. The tunnels remained sealed until April 2013. After seven years of work by the Two Tunnels Group and Sustrans they were converted into a shared use path. The Devonshire Tunnel is 408 m long and the Combe Down Tunnel is 1,672 m long. Both tunnels are described as well lit and well surfaced and form part of a flatter route that can be used by runners, walkers and cyclists.
