Baker Trail UltraChallenge : August 29, 2026, Vowinckel / Brookville, PA
The Baker Trail UltraChallenge is a 50-mile ultramarathon held on the Baker Trail, covering the northern section of the 134-mile route in 2026. The point-to-point course begins at the trail's northern terminus and finishes at the Brookville Evangelical Methodist Church (30 White Street, Brookville, PA). The course includes approximately 6,200 feet of climbing and passes through deep forest, single-track trails, sections of dirt and paved country roads, and areas that overlap with the North Country Trail and Cook Forest.
The Baker Trail is marked with yellow blazes on trees, poles, and other objects; runners must watch for blazes and may need to backtrack if they go off course. The event accepts individual entries and relay teams of up to five members. Finishers who complete the course within the fourteen-hour cutoff receive one piece of a three-piece commemorative medal; completing all three race sections in the series earns a medal holder.
Brookville Evangelical Methodist Church serves as basecamp, hosting participant check-in, a pre-race dinner, camping with porta-johns, shuttle service to the start, drop-bag collection, parking, the race finish, and a post-race picnic. The event offers free guided training runs on July 24, July 26, and August 8. A separate free Women's Run & Raffle event is scheduled for May 17 and includes a 4-mile loop, a six-hour format, food, and raffles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
