The Arrowhead Endurance Run takes place at the Arrowhead Lake Campground in Johnston City, Illinois. The event is centered around a certified 2.07 mile loop that circles the lake. The course consists of 99% gravel trail with a small concrete section located at the boat ramp. The route is relatively flat, featuring less than 50 feet of elevation change per loop.
Participants can choose from several timed formats:
- 24 Hour (Individual and Relay options)
- 12 Hour (Daytime and Nighttime options)
- 6 Hour
- 3 Hour
A single large aid station is located at the start and finish area, providing water, electrolyte drinks, and standard race fare such as fruit, chips, candy, and cookies. Hot food options are also served throughout the duration of the event. Runners are permitted to set up personal pop-up tents and aid stations on the morning of the race.
Finishers who complete at least one official lap in their designated race receive a custom medal. Runners in the 24 Hour category who reach the 100 mile mark within the time limit are awarded a buckle. Overall winners for each distance receive special awards. Participants registered by the specified deadline also receive an event shirt.
