ARC Irene Trail Run/Walk
ARC Irene Trail Run/Walk is a trail running and walking event at Irene Athletics Club inside the Agricultural Research Centre Irene in Centurion, Gauteng. Race packs do not need to be collected the day before; participants receive their race number on the morning of the event when they register.
Distances offered include:
- 3 km (half trail, half road)
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 15 km
- 21 km
Entry fees for pre-entries are listed per distance with a reduced flat fee for children under 13 and adults over 60 on specific classes. Water tables are provided on all routes. The route options include road loops within the ARC Irene grounds and full distance trail routes that do not use public roads. Walking or hiking is permitted on the 2 km, 5 km, 10 km and 15 km routes. The venue provides a clubhouse with coffee, drinks and snacks, venue entry and parking. Participants receive a finisher medal and Vitality points.
The event operates a medal donation option: participants may place their medal in a campaign box to donate its cost to the Make a Difference Campaign, which supports an animal shelter at year end. Pets are not allowed at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
