Antonine Trail 10k
The Antonine Trail 10k is the inaugural Kirkintilloch Olympians Antonine Trail Race held on 1 November 2026 with start and finish in Twechar. The organisers have re-established the event with the blessing of the previous race team and have retained the majority of the original ATRX 10k course, which includes multiple climbs and descents.
The route begins on Colliery Green in Twechar and climbs Barrhill to a section of the Antonine fort before crossing into Croy. Runners then ascend Mount Cookie and Croy Hill, with views across the Kilsyth hills, followed by a sharp descent to a road crossing and a return to Twechar via trails through Creekie Wood.
Race administration includes number pick up at Twechar Outdoor Pursuits Centre, 15 Canal Row, Main Street, Twechar G65 9DT, where toilets, showers and changing areas are available and space for belongings is provided at the owner’s risk. The event is chip timed and chips are issued alongside race numbers.
Entry fees are listed as £15 for SAL registered athletes and £18 for others, with no entries on the day. The field is limited to 150 runners. Prizes in cash or vouchers will be awarded for the first three male and female finishers and age group prizes will be posted after the event. Results will be published on the club website, race Facebook page and SAL/Power of 10 sites. The race is SA licensed and held under UKA rules. Photographs will be taken and shared via social media.
