Anglesey Trail Half Marathon & 10K - Newborough Forest
The Anglesey Trail event takes place in Newborough Forest and on Llanddwyn Island, Anglesey. The route runs through forest single track, sandy running trails and winding woodland sections, and offers views of the Llyn Peninsula and the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia). Parts of the woodland trails once hosted the Commonwealth Mountain and Ultra Distance Running Championships.
The event offers two measured trail race distances:
- 10 km trail run
- Half Marathon (21.1 km) trail run
Event village facilities include music, race commentary, shopping, food, bag drop and toilets. On course support is provided by marshals, signage, energy stations and support vehicles. Timing is chip based with live online results. Finishers receive event mementos designed to reflect the location and local history. The event features family friendly finishes and activities.
The main event car park has reached capacity; additional Park & Cycle and Park & Run tickets were added for parking at Chapel Street Car Park, Newborough, which is approximately two miles from the event village. A £5 parking fee is included for those parking there. Participants who use that parking option are expected to walk, run or cycle the journey to the event village; bike racks are provided but cyclists must bring their own locks.
