Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run
The Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run is a long distance trail event held in the San Gabriel backcountry. The race has been organized since 1986 and follows trails and roads that traverse national forest lands managed with volunteer support and U.S. Forest Service oversight.
The event distance is 100 miles. For 2026 the course was adjusted to an out and back layout starting and finishing at Loma Alta Park, running to Mt Hillyer and returning, a change made in response to Highway 2 closures and the effects of the Eaton Fire. Course maps, elevation profiles, and official checkpoint cutoff charts are published for each race edition. The race also serves as a qualifying event for other ultrarunning series and indexes.
Entry is managed by a lottery system; the 2026 lottery opened on September 19, 2025 and closed on September 29, 2025, with entrants and the waitlist published October 3, 2025. The event operates a registration and drop bag process in the days before the race. The organizer maintains a Sterling Silver Ticket program that offers automatic entry to top finishers of designated qualifying races.
The event program includes trail work days, an official training run covering the final section of the course, a multi day training camp with loop options, ham radio support, published race photos and results, and volunteer staffing for aid stations and logistics.
