About the race
Almindingsløbet og Walk is a traditional motion event on Bornholm organized by Viking Atletik in Almindingen. The event takes place on marked forest trails and some asphalt roads through Almindingen and is described as a hilly route with strong nature scenery. All participants may walk, run or use poles; there is also a dedicated children's distance.
Available distances:
- 8 km motionsløb and walk
- 6 km walk and motionsløb
- 2.6 km walk, motionsløb and children’s race
Course markings use signs and marshals; participants follow route signs and larger forest roads. There is a water station at about 3.5 km on the 6 and 8 km routes. Dogs are not allowed. Parking is available at Hareløkkerne, Christianshøjkroen or in small lay-bys along Segenvej.
Participants receive chip timing (net time), fruit and 0.5 liter bottled water from Rema1000, an online diploma and free downloadable photos. All entrants are eligible for prize-draw items; some winning prizes must be collected the same day. The fastest child on selected distances receives a winner prize; 6 km and 2.6 km for adults are purely motion classes without winner prizes.
Pre-registration prices are 60 kr for participants aged 15 and older for the listed distances and 40 kr for the 2.6 km for children up to 14. On-the-day entry costs 20 kr more. Registration is binding and fees are non-refundable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
