After Ate 8K and 2 Mile

After Ate is a community run and walk hosted by Colonial Sports at the Meadows in Williamsburg, Virginia. Events start and finish at the zero mile marker on the Virginia Capital Trail along the service road parallel to Jamestown Road. The event date is November 28, 2026.

The in-person 8K and both 2 mile events are chip timed. The 8K and 8K competitive walk include awards for the top three men and women overall; awards are also given by age group. The 2 mile run/walk and the ruck event award the top three men and women overall and place awards by age group. All participants receive a custom long sleeve race T, with shirt and size guaranteed for those registered by November 16, 2026. The first 300 finishers in the 8K receive a die-cast finisher medal; the first 200 finishers in the 2 mile events receive a custom finisher medal.

An 8K virtual option allows participants to complete the distance between October 27 and December 11. Virtual participants can pick up swag at Colonial Sports after November 24 or request mailing for a $9 fee.

Post-race offerings include pizza, refreshments, after-race music and a complimentary beer for those of legal drinking age. Participants are asked to bring non-perishable food items; the event aims to collect 10,000 lbs for local food banks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
