About the race
The 12 Hour Adventure Trail Run is an endurance trail event held in Prince William Forest Park near Triangle, VA and organized by Athletic Equation Trail Series. The event lists a 30 km option, a 12 hour format, and a 2 person relay option.
- 30 km
- 12 hour
- 2 person relay
The course uses a 6.5 mile looped figure eight on a different set of trails than the organizer's 24 hour event. The loop is 100 percent trails, mixing single track and fire road, with approximate elevation gain and loss of 650 feet per loop. Terrain notes include rocks, roots, dirt, and possible mud if it rains.
There are two aid stations. The primary aid station is at the Start/Finish and supplies a plentiful array of food for participants and crews. The secondary aid station provides water only. The event concludes with an awards ceremony and a post-race meal available to participants and crews.
Prince William Forest Park covers more than 17,000 acres and contains over 40 miles of trails. Past editions of the organizer's trail runs have recorded many accumulated miles on the park trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
