Abersoch Coast Trail
The Abersoch Coast Trail is a series of coastal trail races held in the village of Abersoch on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. Routes start and finish on Abersoch Beach and follow the coastal path past Tudwal’s Islands and Porth Ceiriad; the 20K route continues to Porth Neigwl and returns to the beach. Courses use tracks and trails for most of the distance, include short sections of road, and finish with a final stretch across the sand to the spectator area on the beach.
Race services include chip bib timing with ChronoChip, drink stations on course and at the finish, clear direction signs, marshals, medics and professional traffic management. All finishers receive a zinc alloy medal with a bespoke lanyard, a technical race T-shirt and recovery food and drink. The event is affiliated to the Welsh Athletics Association and entrants must follow Welsh Athletics rules.
Post-race facilities and atmosphere feature live music, a race compere, massages, a beach bar and BBQ; some participants use the bay for a swim after the race. Trophies are awarded and a prize fund of £1,000 is available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
