Abersoch Coast Trail
The Abersoch Coast Trail takes place in the village of Abersoch on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. Routes start and finish on Abersoch Beach and follow coastal paths, tracks, trails and short sections of road past landmarks such as Tudwal’s Islands and Porth Ceiriad; the 20K route extends to Porth Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth) before returning to the beach.
Distances include:
- 20K trail route finishing on Abersoch Beach
- 10K trail route using coastal paths and village tracks
- 2K Beach Blast along the sands
- Torchlight 2K beach run in the evening
Drink stations provide water or hydration drink at 6 km, 11 km, 14 km and at the finish. The event uses ChronoChip bibtag timing for recorded results and is affiliated to the Welsh Athletics Association, so entrants must follow Welsh Athletics rules.
Course management includes clear direction signs, friendly marshals, medic support and professional traffic management. Prizes include bespoke trophies and a prize fund of £1,000. Finishers receive a zinc alloy medal with a bespoke lanyard and recovery food and drink; a technical race T-shirt is also listed as an added extra. Post-race offerings at the beach hub include music, a race compere, massages, a beach bar and food options. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
