A Shot in The Dark Night Trail Race - Huger, SC
A Shot in The Dark is a night trail running event held in Huger, South Carolina. The event features a 5K on trails with the start and finish at 356 Middleburg Lane, Huger, SC 29450. Participants are required to use a headlamp or other personal illumination while on course.
Registration is offered in advance and on the day of the event. Pre registration fee is $45 with the last day to pre register on November 5, 2026. Day of registration is $50. Race shirts are guaranteed for those who pre register on or before October 26, 2026. Race registration is non refundable.
All participants must sign the Whitewater Center Assumption of Risk Agreement before participating; the waiver can be printed and brought to packet pick up or completed on site and is not part of the online registration form. Awards will be presented to the top three male and top three female finishers in the 5K.
Trails remain open to other runners, hikers, and bikers during events; participants should communicate when passing others. No e bikes or powered transportation are permitted. Events are scheduled to proceed rain or shine, and free parking is available onsite. The Whitewater Center does not perform trail rescues; participants must call 911 for emergency services.
