815 VKRC
815 VKRC is a team-based run held in Mundy Park (Hillcrest Field), Coquitlam, on Saturday, August 15, 2026, organized to mark the 81st anniversary of Korean Liberation Day. Teams of four or five runners are formed by the organizers to balance ability based on each participant's selected sub-event and longest comfortable distance. The collective team goal is to complete 81.5 km.
Participants register individually and choose one of several sub-events based on running distance. Within a two hour time limit each participant runs as many loops as possible; individual distances are combined to produce the team total. Teams that reach 81.5 km receive a special prize and the team with the greatest total distance is recognized as the top-performing team.
Virtual participants run independently between August 9 and August 14. The virtual course must include elevation gain; treadmill runs or flat-road-only efforts are not permitted. Virtual entrants must capture a screenshot of their activity showing distance, time, and elevation and submit it to the organizers as proof.
Awards are listed for teams that complete 81.5 km and for the top-performing team. A registration donation is requested for participation; separate in-person and virtual options are described by the organizers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
