About the race
Whistler Blackcomb is the fourth race of the BC 5 Peaks Trail Running Series, held on Blackcomb Mountain with access via gondola and the Peak to Peak Gondola. Races take place on alpine terrain, including meadows, alpine lakes, and boulder fields with wide mountain views.
Distances and maps are provided for each course and may change based on trail conditions. Available timed and non-timed options include:
- 1 km Kid's Run
- 3 km Kid's Run
- 7 km Sport Run or Hike
- 11 km Enduro Run or Hike
- 16.5 km Grit Run
The event follows Whistler Blackcomb safety requirements for extreme weather. The race is cup-free; water and electrolyte drink are available at the start, finish, and on-course aid stations, and participants planning longer efforts should carry a personal container. Blonyx Hydra+ is the on-course electrolyte beverage for the season.
A non-competitive hiking division is offered for participants who walk the full Sport or Enduro courses; hiking participants are led by pace leaders and are entered into prize draws but are not eligible for podium awards. Individual registration does not include swag, finisher medals, or gondola tickets; these items can be pre-purchased. Awards are presented to top finishers by gender and age category and must be picked up at the event. Spectators also require gondola tickets. Parking and washrooms are available near the race area. Volunteer shifts offer an entry or merch item in exchange for service. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
