Weaselhead Flats, Calgary : 5 Peaks Trail Running (Central Alberta finale)

The event takes place at Weaselhead Flats, a 237 hectare natural area in southwest Calgary. It is the fifth and final race of the Central Alberta 5 Peaks Trail Running Series, held on the last weekend of September. The course runs through hard pack and singletrack trails and highlights autumn colours as well as local wildlife and plantlife.

Race distances and maps are provided, including elevation and aid station locations:

  • Kids: 1 km
  • Kids: 3 km
  • Sport: 7.6 km
  • Enduro: 14.0 km

The event is cup free; there are no cups at the start, finish, or aid stations. Water and electrolyte drink are available at the start and finish and at one or more aid stations on course. Participants planning to be on course for more than an hour are asked to carry a receptacle for drinking and transporting liquids, calories, and electrolytes.

Facilities include washrooms at the start and finish area and ample parking in the Weaselhead Flats parking lot and on nearby streets. Awards include medals for the top three finishers in each gender for each age category and for the top three men and women overall. Swag and finisher medals are not included in individual registration prices and must be picked up at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
