Central Alberta Series Finale
The 5 Peaks - Weaselhead event serves as the final race in the Central Alberta 5 Peaks Trail Running Series. Located in southwest Calgary, the race takes place within the Weaselhead Natural Area, a 237-hectare park known for its diverse plant life and wildlife. Participants navigate a course that features a mix of hard-pack trails and singletrack sections, highlighting the autumn landscape of the region.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 1 km Kids run
- 3 km Kids run
- 7.6 km Sport Run or Hike
- 14.0 km Enduro Run or Hike
The event is organized as a cup-free race. No disposable cups are provided at the start, finish, or aid stations. Runners must carry their own receptacle for hydration and nutrition. Water and electrolyte drinks are available at designated stations.
The event site includes washroom facilities at the start and finish area. Parking is available in the park lot and on nearby streets. For safety reasons, dogs, strollers, baby joggers, headphones, and nordic walking poles are not permitted on the course. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in each age and gender category for all distances.
