About the race
5 Peaks Trail Running holds an event at Sikome Lake in Fish Creek Provincial Park in south Calgary. The park includes paved paths, hard packed trails, single track trails and an outdoor lake. The event is part of the Central Alberta series and offers distances for multiple age groups and goals.
Distances:
- 1 km Kids
- 3 km Kids
- 6.5 km Sport run or hike
- 11.6 km Enduro run or hike
Route maps, elevation gain and loss, and aid station locations are provided. Alternate routes were used for the 2026 event because of park maintenance, and race distances and maps may change up to the day of the race.
The event is cup free. Water and electrolyte drink are available at the start and finish area and at one or more aid stations on course. Participants expected to be on course longer than an hour should carry a receptacle for fluids and calories. Washroom facilities and parking are available at the start and finish area. Spectators are welcome.
Safety restrictions on the course include no dogs, no headphones, no strollers or baby joggers, and no hiking poles except in non-competitive hiking categories. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each gender and age category for each distance and to the top three male and female finishers overall. Swag and finisher medals are not included with registration and must be purchased and picked up at the event; they will not be mailed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
