The event takes place in Pennypack Park in Philadelphia and offers multiple race distances and on-site services. Distances include:
- 26.2 miles full marathon
- 13.1 miles half marathon
- 10 km new in 2027 on an easier park section
The course runs along Pennypack Creek on the paved bike path. Much of the route is shaded and mostly flat, though the midsection includes short steep rolling hills and a trail segment known as Mount Cuckoo. There is no vehicle traffic on the course.
Aid and support include 13 aid stations on the full course and 6 for the half, with water and Gatorade available at each fluid station. Energy gels are supplied at specific miles but participants are advised to bring their preferred gels. Medical support includes an on-site EMT ambulance and multiple support bikers. Timing uses a disposable chip system and mile markers are posted along the route.
Race packet pickup is available on race day at the Ed Kelly Amphitheater. A post-race popup beer garden and party at the amphitheater features nonalcoholic beer, bratwurst and German-style entertainment, plus an awards ceremony and a costume contest with additional prizes for Bavarian dress. Every finisher receives a medal; top overall awards and age-group awards are presented.
Refunds are available until 30 days before the event minus a fee; after that no refunds. Official bib transfers are allowed until five days before the race. The organizer notes that June temperatures can be high and recommends the full marathon only for runners experienced with summer conditions. The organizer reserves the right to limit the marathon distance or adjust time limits based on conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
